Award-winning filmmaker Nelson Yeo's latest creation, "The House on the Moon," a Singaporean wuxia science-fiction feature, has secured a significant distribution agreement. Parallax Films has stepped in as the global sales agent for the movie, according to Variety. This development positions the film for broader international exposure as it prepares for its world premiere. The feature is scheduled to make its inaugural international appearance in competition at the upcoming 79th Locarno Film Festival. This prestigious festival platform offers a prominent stage for "The House on the Moon" to garner critical attention and secure further distribution deals. Parallax Films will manage the exclusive rights for the majority of international regions. However, certain territories are not included in this exclusive arrangement. These exceptions encompass German-speaking countries, as well as Taiwan and Singapore. For these specific regions, Parallax Films will maintain non-exclusive rights, indicating that other distributors may also handle the film's sales in those markets. Nelson Yeo is known for his distinctive storytelling, and "The House on the Moon" blends traditional wuxia elements with a science-fiction narrative, promising a unique cinematic experience. Securing a worldwide sales agent before its festival premiere is a strong indicator of the film's perceived international appeal and commercial potential. This strategic move by Parallax Films aims to maximize the film's reach and ensure it connects with audiences across diverse territories, building anticipation ahead of its formal debut at Locarno.
