CLEAR Secure, a prominent identity verification company, disclosed its financial results for the first fiscal quarter of 2026, revealing a period of mixed performance marked by both growth in its subscriber base and a modest decline in certain revenue streams. According to Yahoo Finance, the firm reported that its overall revenue reached $156 million for the quarter, reflecting a slight dip from previous figures. The direct-to-consumer (DTC) segment, a core component of CLEAR Secure's business model, saw its revenue decrease to $146 million. This reduction occurred even as the company successfully expanded its total member count, which now stands at 6.7 million. Furthermore, the number of "plus" members, who represent a higher tier of service, grew to 2.4 million. The company also highlighted its CLEAR Touch fingerprint devices, now present in 57 lanes across 47 airports, and its successful launch at Little Rock Airport, with plans to introduce these services at two additional airports in the upcoming year. From an operational standpoint, the net loss for CLEAR Secure in Q1 2026 was reported at $19 million. Adjusted EBITDA also saw a decrease, registering at $4.5 million. The company's liquidity position remains robust, with $122.9 million in cash and cash equivalents, and no outstanding debt. Looking ahead, CLEAR Secure has reiterated its full-year 2026 financial guidance. The company anticipates total revenue to fall within the range of $620 million to $640 million. DTC revenue is projected to be between $587 million and $602 million, while its "B2B and other" revenue is expected to be in the $33 million to $38 million range. The outlook for adjusted EBITDA is set at $42 million to $52 million. This guidance reflects the company's ongoing strategic investments aimed at long-term expansion and enhancement of its service offerings. Executives from CLEAR Secure expressed confidence in their long-term strategy, emphasizing investments in product development and market penetration. They noted the continued strong engagement from their member base, suggesting a resilient demand for their expedited security clearance services. The company's commitment to expanding its airport presence and refining its technology remains a key focus for future growth, despite the current quarter's revenue fluctuations.
