JP Ahonen's animated series ‘Belzebubs,’ based on his webcomic, will premiere at the Helsinki Festival. The show features themes of liberal values intertwined with humor and a nod to Satanism.

Finnish artist JP Ahonen is set to introduce his animated series "Belzebubs" at the upcoming Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy. Drawing on his popular webcomic, the show melds elements of humor and family dynamics while exploring liberal values through a unique lens. The series portrays a fictional family dedicated to Satan, yet remains relatable to modern audiences, echoing the themes found in other well-known family series like "The Addams Family" and "Modern Family." Ahonen's creative vision is brought to life with the help of producer Terhi Väänänen from Pyjama Films and director Samppa Kukkonen. Distribution rights for the series are being managed by Banijay Kids & Family, ensuring a broad reach for the show. The blend of traditional family themes with more unconventional elements promises to attract both fans of the original webcomic and new viewers alike. This distinct approach positions "Belzebubs" as a fresh addition to the animated landscape.
