Colombian stock values receded as the trading session drew to a close on Tuesday, with the nation's primary stock market indicator, the COLCAP index, reflecting a reduction of 0.48 percent. This movement indicates a general softening in investor sentiment across various market segments.
Contributing to this decline were several sectors, including the financial industry, public services, and the industrial sector, which each experienced downward trends. According to Investing.com, the market saw more faltering stocks than those that advanced, highlighting a broad-based weakness.
Specifically, the biggest movers downward within the COLCAP index included shares of ETB, which saw a dip of 4.49 points, closing at 170.10. Similarly, Cemex Latam Holdings registered a fall of 2.16 percent, settling at 6,360. Other significant losses were posted by Grupo Argos SA, whose shares decreased by 1.62 percent, ending at 16,920.
Conversely, a few companies managed to buck the trend and post gains. Promigas SA ESP stock climbed by 2.45 percent, reaching a closing price of 4,175. The retailer Exito also observed an upward movement, with its stock value increasing by 0.58 percent to 3,450. Additionally, Empresa De Energia De Bogota advanced by 0.23 percent, concluding the day at 2,165.

The trading volume reflected active participation, with approximately 7.21 million shares changing hands, totaling a value of 27.75 billion Colombian Pesos. For options trading, contracts for Brent crude oil with July expiry saw a slight advance of 0.17 percent, trading at $82.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, crude oil futures for July delivery edged up by 0.16 percent, reaching $77.82 per barrel.
