Following his work on "Andor," actor Diego Luna is set to take on another project within the Disney family, according to Variety. The performer, recognized for his contributions to the "Star Wars" universe, will participate in the studio's live-action interpretation of the animated classic "Tangled." Luna will be featured alongside several other actors, including Teagan Croft, known for "Titans," Milo Manheim from "Zombies," and Kathryn Hahn, who recently starred in "The Studio." This new assembly of talent aims to bring a fresh perspective to the popular fairytale narrative. "Tangled," originally released in 2010, is an animated musical fantasy that reimagines the classic German fairytale "Rapunzel" by the Brothers Grimm. The story centers on Rapunzel, a young princess with exceptionally long, magical golden hair, who has spent her entire life isolated in a secluded tower with her manipulative adoptive mother, Mother Gothel. Her carefully constructed world is disrupted when Flynn Rider, a charming and roguish thief, stumbles upon her hidden sanctuary. Rapunzel, longing to see the mysterious floating lights that appear annually on her birthday, strikes a deal with Flynn. This pact leads her to escape her tower for the first time, embarking on an adventure to witness the lights and discover the truth about her past. The animated film was celebrated for its engaging storyline, memorable songs, and cutting-edge animation for its time. It garnered significant critical and commercial success, contributing to Disney's resurgence in animated features. The movie also introduced audiences to characters like Pascal, Rapunzel's chameleon companion, and Maximus, a determined palace horse, who became fan favorites. This live-action remake follows a trend of Disney re-imagining its animated classics for modern audiences, often incorporating new elements while retaining the core narrative. The selection of Luna and the other cast members suggests a commitment to a diverse and compelling ensemble for this highly anticipated production.
