Fenerbahce is actively pursuing Manchester City's Dutch international defender, Nathan Aké, with reports indicating ongoing negotiations between the two clubs. According to BBC Sport, the Süper Lig team is looking to secure the services of the 28-year-old in a move valued at around £7 million. Aké joined Manchester City from Bournemouth in the summer of 2020 for a reported fee of £41 million. Since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, the versatile defender has featured in a variety of competitions, providing depth across the backline, primarily as a central defender or left-back. Throughout his tenure with the reigning Premier League champions, Aké has made 88 appearances across all competitions. While not a constant starter, he has proven to be a valuable squad member, contributing to City's multiple trophy successes, including two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and a Champions League title. Prior to his move to Manchester, Aké established himself as a key player for Bournemouth, demonstrating his capabilities as a consistent performer in the Premier League. His career also includes stints with Chelsea, where he began his professional journey, alongside loan spells at Reading and Watford, gaining diverse experience in English football. Fenerbahce, a dominant force in Turkish football, is known for attracting established players from top European leagues. The potential acquisition of Aké would significantly strengthen their defensive options as they aim for domestic and European success in the upcoming season. The reported £7 million fee would represent a considerable investment for the Turkish giants. The discussions are understood to be progressing, although no official confirmation has been made by either club at this stage. Should the transfer materialize, Aké would embark on a new chapter in his career, experiencing a different league and a new challenge in the Süper Lig.
