Amaneos has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of the automotive lighting business previously operated by Magna International. This transaction, initially disclosed in February, marks a significant development for both entities in the global automotive supply chain.
The newly integrated division will operate under the name Amaneos Lighting, establishing its headquarters in Munich, Germany. This move positions it as a key player in the specialized field of vehicle illumination technology. The workforce transitioning to Amaneos includes approximately 3,000 employees across 11 facilities located in various regions worldwide, encompassing Europe, Asia, and North America.
According to Yahoo Finance, the divestiture by Magna reflects a strategic re-evaluation of its portfolio, allowing the company to concentrate on core areas of its business. For Amaneos, the acquisition represents an opportunity to expand its technological capabilities and market presence, particularly in advanced lighting solutions for the automotive industry.
The leadership team of the newly formed Amaneos Lighting will include Lutz Blattner as Chief Executive Officer, alongside Dr. Christian Teichmann as Chief Financial Officer and Dr. Bert Streit as Chief Operating Officer. This experienced team is tasked with guiding the new entity through its integration phase and beyond, focusing on innovation and growth.
The completed deal is expected to create synergies that will enhance Amaneos's capacity to deliver cutting-edge lighting systems to its global clientele. The company anticipates that the integration of Magna's lighting expertise will solidify its standing as an independent, market-leading supplier of automotive components, particularly in the competitive lighting segment.
