A new collaborative initiative between Goldfinch International and Fablemill seeks to foster the expansion of creative sectors within the fast-developing economies of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, according to Variety. This venture, operating as an advisory platform, is designed to offer strategic guidance and support to various entities, including governmental bodies, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional investors. The core of this new platform is built upon four distinct areas of expertise. These include the formulation of government policies and the creation of incentive structures to encourage creative endeavors. It also encompasses providing expert advice on institutional investments within the creative space, as well as nurturing the growth of local creative enterprises. Furthermore, the platform intends to facilitate market entry for international businesses looking to engage with these burgeoning creative economies. The leadership of this joint effort brings considerable experience to the table. Phil McKenzie, formerly of Goldfinch, will assume the role of CEO, leveraging his background in the media and entertainment sectors. Joining him is Anshuman Misra, a founding partner of Fablemill, who will serve as the chairperson. Misra's distinguished career includes a significant tenure at Reliance Entertainment, where he held the position of Group COO. Goldfinch International, prior to this collaboration, has been actively involved in financing media and entertainment projects, as well as providing consultancy and production services. Their track record includes work with international clients across the United States, Europe, and India. Fablemill, on the other hand, specializes in offering strategic and financial insights to companies within the media, entertainment, and technology landscapes. This new advisory platform is poised to address the increasing demand for structured support in developing creative economies in regions often referred to as the Global South. By bringing together diverse expertise in policy, investment, and enterprise development, the partnership aims to create a comprehensive resource for stakeholders looking to capitalize on the cultural and economic potential of these areas.
