Fans of the long-running comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" can anticipate the arrival of the show's eighteenth season this coming August. The new episodes are scheduled to begin airing on Saturday, August 17, at 9:00 PM Eastern Time. According to Variety, the upcoming season will be accessible across multiple platforms. In the United States, viewers can tune in via FX and FXX, with streaming options also available on Hulu. International audiences will be able to watch the series through Disney+. This latest installment marks a change from the immediate past, as it is slated to feature eight episodes. This contrasts with the prior three seasons, each of which comprised ten episodes. Despite the slightly shorter run, the show continues its remarkable tenure, holding the distinction as the longest-running live-action comedy in television history. The ensemble cast, which has been a cornerstone of the series since its inception, is set to return. Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito will reprise their roles, continuing the comedic escapades of the "Gang" from Paddy's Pub. McElhenney, Day, and Howerton also serve as executive producers, alongside Michael Rotenberg, Nick Frenkel, David Hornsby, and Megan Ganz. Created by McElhenney, the series premiered on FX in August 2005 and quickly garnered a devoted following for its distinct brand of dark humor and irreverent characters. Its consistent performance and critical acclaim have solidified its place in television history, leading to numerous renewals and a dedicated fanbase eager for more adventures from the Philadelphia-based protagonists.
