Despite a 12% downturn in its share price since the beginning of the year, a potential resurgence in Disney’s stock could positively impact a selection of exchange-traded funds, according to Seeking Alpha. These ETFs hold substantial positions in the entertainment giant, making their performance intrinsically linked to Disney’s market trajectory.
Among the funds identified for potential gains is the iShares Evolved U.S. Media and Entertainment ETF (IEME). This particular ETF allocates a significant portion of its assets, approximately 7.27%, to Disney. Consequently, any upward movement in Disney’s stock would likely translate into a favorable shift for IEME's overall value.
Similarly, investors in the Vanguard Communication Services ETF (VOX) could also benefit from a Disney rally. Disney comprises roughly 4.14% of VOX’s holdings, suggesting a noticeable, albeit less pronounced, effect on the ETF compared to IEME.
Another fund poised to react to Disney’s performance is the Fidelity MSCI Communication Services Index ETF (FCOM). With Disney making up about 4.01% of its portfolio, FCOM’s valuation is also closely tied to the media conglomerate’s stock movements.
The Communication Services Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLC) also features Disney prominently in its investment strategy, dedicating 3.99% of its assets to the company. This substantial allocation positions XLC to experience considerable influence from Disney’s stock fluctuations.
Rounding out the list of ETFs with significant Disney exposure is the First Trust S&P International Dividend Aristocrats ETF (FID). Although the percentage is smaller at 0.58%, Disney’s performance still contributes to FID’s overall returns, indicating the broad reach of the entertainment behemoth’s market influence across various fund types.
These interconnected relationships highlight how a prominent company like Disney can act as a bellwether for specific sectors and investment products. A turnaround for Disney, which has faced various market challenges this year, could therefore provide a welcome boost for these associated ETFs and their investors.
