BNP Paribas has elevated its outlook on Novonesis shares, shifting its recommendation from a neutral stance to an outperform rating. This revision by the financial institution, as reported by Investing.com, follows a period where Novonesis’s market performance lagged behind its competitors by a substantial margin. The investment bank now sees this valuation dip as an opportune moment for investors to consider acquiring the stock. The re-evaluation by BNP Paribas suggests a change in perspective regarding Novonesis’s potential for growth. Previously, the company's shares were considered to be in line with market expectations, but the recent analysis points to an expectation of the stock surpassing its sector in the near future. This comes after the firm's stock depreciated by approximately 20% when compared to the broader industry. Analysts at BNP Paribas indicated that the prior neutral rating was established when Novonesis was trading at 25 times its estimated earnings for 2025. This valuation was perceived as full at the time, indicating that the stock's price accurately reflected its expected future profits. However, the subsequent relative decline in share value has altered this assessment. The updated analysis from the bank highlights key reasons for the newfound optimism. Among these is the anticipated robust organic growth for Novonesis in the coming year, projected to be around 6 percent. This growth is expected to be driven by an expansion in volumes, particularly within the company’s food and health sectors. Furthermore, the integration process following the merger of Novozymes and Chr. Hansen is reportedly progressing more smoothly than first anticipated. The synergies resulting from this merger are expected to materialize more rapidly, contributing positively to Novonesis's financial outlook. The company is also expected to benefit from favorable pricing trends, which could further bolster its revenue. BNP Paribas has also revised its price target for Novonesis, increasing it to DKK 470 per share. This new target reflects the bank's confidence in the company’s ability to recover and demonstrates its belief that the stock has considerable upside potential from its current trading levels.
