Moroccan financial markets concluded the trading day on a downward trajectory, reflecting a general decline across several sectors. According to Investing.com, the Moroccan All Shares index, a primary benchmark for the nation's equity performance, registered a decrease of 0.52% by the market's close. This negative performance was observed across a range of segments within the market. For instance, shares in the Holding category, which often includes diversified investment firms, saw a notable drop. Similarly, the industry sector, encompassing various manufacturing and production companies, also contributed to the overall market's decline. Furthermore, the construction and building materials sector, crucial for infrastructure development, experienced negative pressure during the session. Conversely, a few sectors managed to post gains despite the broader market trend. The electricity sector, vital for national power supply, showed some resilience. The forestry and paper industry also reported an increase, suggesting selective positive movements in certain areas of the economy. Additionally, the beverages sector, which includes major consumer goods companies, experienced upward momentum, indicating pockets of strength amidst the general market contraction. The decline in the Moroccan All Shares index positioned it at 12,683.43 points by the close of business. Meanwhile, the Casablanca Stock Exchange (CSE) All-Share Index, another significant measure of market health, also recorded a decrease, shedding 0.53% to settle at 12,683.43 points. These figures underscore a challenging day for investors in the Moroccan equity market. Among the stocks that saw the most significant losses were Bmce Bank, experiencing a 2.58% decline to MAD 235.00, and Addoha, which fell by 2.47% to MAD 6.33. Lesieur Cristal also contributed to the negative trend, decreasing by 2.40% to MAD 244.00. These specific declines illustrate the impact on individual company valuations during the trading session. Conversely, Atlanta, Sonasid, and Sothema were among the top performers, showing gains ranging from 3.73% to 1.70%.
