Fans of the popular deception-based video game "Among Us" can now stream an animated adaptation, which was made available without prior extensive promotion on Paramount+. The streaming service recently launched all ten episodes of the new series, offering a complete season for immediate viewing. The unexpected release was announced by actors Yvette Nicole Brown and Liv Hewson at the Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, according to Variety. This debut comes as a surprise to many, as there had been no significant marketing or advertising leading up to the show's availability. The series was first revealed to be in development over a year ago, sparking anticipation among the game's substantial fanbase. The production features a notable ensemble voice cast. Randall Park lends his voice to the character of Red, the captain of the Skeld. Ashley Johnson portrays Purple, the chief of security, while Yvette Nicole Brown voices Orange, the head of human resources. Liv Hewson takes on the role of Black, the lead geologist. Additional cast members include Patton Oswalt as White, the head of medical, and Debra Wilson as Yellow, the master of disguise. Dan Stevens plays Blue, the doctor, and Kimiko Glenn is Cyan, the accountant. Phil LaMarr voices Green, a veteran, with Elijah Wood as an impostor named Lime, and Peter Serafinowicz as the narrator. The show was developed by Owen Dennis, known for his work on "Infinity Train," and produced by Titmouse, the studio behind "Big Mouth." CBS Studios is also involved in the production. The "Among Us" game gained considerable traction during the recent global pandemic, becoming a cultural phenomenon. Its gameplay revolves around a group of crewmates on a spaceship attempting to complete tasks while identifying impostors among them who are secretly trying to sabotage the mission and eliminate the crew. The game's simple yet engaging premise, combined with its social deduction elements, contributed to its widespread appeal and made it ripe for adaptation into other media.
