Olivier Giroud, a World Cup winner with France, has offered his perspective on Christian Pulisic's potential importance to the United States Men's National Team, suggesting the American player is prepared to lead his country to new heights. According to BBC Sport, Giroud, who was Pulisic's teammate at both Chelsea and AC Milan, highlighted the attacker's evolving maturity and leadership as key factors. Giroud observed that Pulisic has developed considerably since their time together at Chelsea. He noted Pulisic's growth in self-assurance and his increasing ability to influence play. This transformation, Giroud suggests, positions Pulisic not merely as a talented individual but as a pivotal figure capable of elevating the entire squad. The French striker elaborated on Pulisic's journey, referencing their period as teammates at Stamford Bridge. He recalled Pulisic's initial move to England and how he gradually adapted to the demanding environment of the Premier League. The ongoing experience of competing at the highest levels of European club football, including his recent move to AC Milan, has further honed Pulisic's skills and temperament, Giroud stated. At AC Milan, Pulisic has continued to demonstrate his capabilities, playing a significant role in the team's performances. Giroud emphasized that Pulisic's consistent contributions and decision-making on the field underscore his readiness for expanded responsibilities. This sustained high-level performance indicates a player who is not only skillful but also possesses the mental fortitude required for leadership. Giroud believes Pulisic's current form and mindset make him an indispensable asset for the USMNT. His capacity to perform under pressure and inspire his fellow players will be vital as the national team competes on the international stage. The expectation is that Pulisic's leadership, combined with his celebrated technical ability, will be instrumental in guiding the American team through their future campaigns.
