Silvaco, Inc. has announced its financial outcomes for the first fiscal quarter of 2026, ending March 31. The semiconductor design automation firm reported a total revenue of $16.3 million, a decline from the $18.4 million recorded in the first quarter of the prior fiscal year, according to Yahoo Finance.
The decline was primarily attributed to weaker performance in product revenue, which fell to $14.2 million from $16.4 million year-over-year. Services revenue also saw a slight decrease, moving from $2.0 million in Q1 2025 to $2.1 million in the current period. This shift reflects ongoing dynamics within the technology sector affecting certain product lines.
Despite the revenue dip, the company highlighted a net income of $0.5 million for the quarter, or $0.02 per diluted share. This compares to a net income of $0.9 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, in the first quarter of fiscal 2025. Gross profit for the recent quarter stood at $12.4 million, representing a gross margin of 76.1%. This is a slight decrease from the 79.5% gross margin reported in the same quarter last year.
Operating expenses for Silvaco totaled $12.8 million, showing a minor increase from the $12.6 million spent in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. Research and development expenses were notably higher, reaching $8.5 million compared to $7.1 million, indicating continued investment in innovation. Selling, general, and administrative expenses, however, decreased to $4.2 million from $5.5 million.
Looking ahead, Silvaco has provided guidance for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, projecting total revenue to be between $17.0 million and $19.0 million. For the full fiscal year 2026, the company anticipates revenue in the range of $70.0 million to $74.0 million. This forward-looking outlook suggests an expected rebound and sustained growth over the coming periods.
The company's executive leadership emphasized their commitment to product development and market expansion, pointing to several strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening their position in various semiconductor design segments. The investment in research and development is seen as a crucial step in maintaining a competitive edge and fostering long-term value for shareholders.
