The Moroccan equity market concluded its trading session with a significant increase, as the Moroccan All Shares index advanced by 0.78% at the end of the day. This performance indicates a generally optimistic sentiment among investors within the North African nation's financial landscape.
According to Investing.com, several influential sectors contributed to this positive market movement. Gains were particularly observed across the building and construction materials, chemicals, and industrial sectors, which collectively helped propel the main index higher. The upward trajectory was largely driven by the strong performance of individual stocks within these key industries.
The overall market activity saw 31 companies register increases in their stock value, while only 10 experienced declines, and 12 remained unchanged. This distribution highlights a broad-based positive sentiment prevailing during the trading period.
Among the top performers of the session were Douja Prom Addoha, whose shares surged by 6.55% to reach 8.79; Delattre Levivier Maroc, which climbed 6.00% to close at 51.50; and Sothema, recording a 5.99% rise, finishing at 1,029. These companies demonstrated robust growth, attracting investor attention and contributing substantially to the market's daily gains.
Conversely, a few companies faced downturns. Residences Dar Saada saw its stock fall by 4.29%, settling at 20.00. Similarly, Risma shares decreased by 2.68% to 110.00, and Sonasid experienced a modest drop of 1.76%, closing at 679. These individual declines, however, were insufficient to offset the broader positive momentum of the market.
In terms of trading volume, a total of 15.69 million shares changed hands, amounting to a value of 219.00 million Moroccan Dirhams. This level of activity reflects considerable investor engagement throughout the day. Additionally, the Moroccan Dirham saw a slight appreciation against the Euro, with EUR/MAD dropping 0.05% to 10.74, while remaining relatively stable against the US Dollar, as USD/MAD rose just 0.01% to 9.94. Futures contracts for Crude Oil and Brent Oil also showed minor increases, suggesting a broader stability in commodity markets alongside the local equity performance.
